Hours Monday–Friday; 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay Hourly; based upon experience

*Must complete and clear all required paperwork ahead of start date

Duties:

  • Work with the CRDG IT team to prepare for, maintain daily operations, and to close out summer programs
  • Maintain and resolve trouble tickets in a timely manner
  • Report/escalate issues as needed
  • Assist in the imaging/refresh of multiple platforms (Chrome, iOS, MacOS, & Windows)
  • Assist teaching faculty with IT and EDTECH needs
  • Apply best practices for IT and EDTECH through research and experience
  • Assist in the inventorying of equipment and maintaining parts
  • Assist in researching, recommending, and ordering hardware, software, or other technology supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, information technology, management information systems, information science, communications, or other related field
  • Understanding of information technology, educational technology, and the related practices to both fields in an educational setting
  • Able to perform basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and other general technology
  • Able to resolve technology support issues in a quick manner
  • Ability to use a wide array of technology typically found in a school environment
  • Understanding of directory systems, authentication, authorization, and on boarding users
  • Work as a team and independently
  • Collaborate with other IT and EDTECH colleagues
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic school environment
  • Able to lift 50lbs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters in Learning Design and Technology (LTEC/ETEC)
  • 3–5 years of experience as a technical coordinator/technology integrator
  • Administration of multi-user accounts, directory systems, authentication, authorization, and on boarding users
  • Google certifications (educator, certified trainer, and/or certified innovator)
  • Demonstrated ability to administer a G Suite domain
  • Demonstrated ability in massed imaging and deployments of computers and mobile devices
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose LAN and WIFI networks
  • Demonstrated ability to administer servers (Apple, Linux, NAS, and/or Windows)
  • Current driver’s license

PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT


The CRDG IT is currently seeking a Computer Specialist in an A3 or A4 position.  Pay will be commensurate to experience based upon your resume and interview.  You MUST be at least a half-time student within the University of Hawaiʻi system.

Work Schedule: Flexible, M-F, 7:30-5:00. Some weekends and evenings as needed
Minimum/Maximum Hours: 10-20, more hours during breaks and summer

QUALIFICATIONS
Able to work with staff and other student assistants. Familiar with Macintosh OS X and/or Windows XP/Vista/7/10 systems. Experience with Microsoft Office, FileMaker Pro or other database software, and Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Knowledge of Web content creation software such as, Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash or similar software. Understanding of basic wired and wireless LAN networks and telecommunication. Knowledge of programming languages/development platform (e.g.: C/C++, Java, java_script, PHP, PERL, Ruby on Rails, Python, etc.) Knowledge of Apple�s iLife suite (iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto, Garageband) or other similar software. Knowledge of advanced creative media software such as Final Cut Studio, Aperture, Lightroom, Premier, AVID, or other creative software. Able to take initiative. Willingness to help others and to learn new things. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Type minimum of 75 wpm. Must be able to lift 40lbs.

DUTIES
Help desk duties include troubleshooting (hardware and software) & maintenance, software & hardware installation, web creation/editing, desktop publishing, word processing, data entry. Other help desk duties include: answering phones, assisting client computers over the phone (remotely) and/or in person, processing electronic reservations, and other office duties. Assist in researching technical support issues and/or escalating them when appropriate. Assisting with audio/visual productions, setups and other events. Other general duties as assigned.

Experience working with staff and other student assistants. Strong background with Macintosh OS X and/or Windows XP/Vista/7 systems. Experience with office productivity suites such as Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or Apple iWork. Familiar with using creative software such as Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, AVID, and/or other video software. Working knowledge of video production equipment such as camcorders, lighting, and field or studio production.Knowledge of programming languages/development platform (e.g.: C/C++, Java, java_script, PHP, PERL, Ruby on Rails, Python, etc.  Familiar with print and digital publishing software such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience using database programs such as Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, or SQL. Understanding of basic networking and telecommunications systems. Able to take initiative. Willingness to help others. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
